MOHI MOANA - TWO YEAR OLDS

Our dedicated kaiako work alongside children as they grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity. We believe every child has unique strengths and abilities gifted by God, and we intentionally nurture these through meaningful relationships, responsive teaching, and play-based learning.

Through exploration, discovery, and positive relationships, children are supported to develop the skills and confidence needed for their next stage of learning.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

THE FIRST STEP OF AN INCREDIBLE JOURNEY *

  • ROUTINES

    The routines in Mohi Kete vary depending on children's individual needs. A primary caregiver will communicate with parents on what their child's home routine and will follow that as closely as possible. Communication is paramount in our room and we will do this either verbally or through a note ote book (mainly for the children under one), we let parents know how their child's day has been, what they ate, when they slept, and if they had a bottle. We check and change nappies every two-three hours or more frequently if its required.

  • KAI

    As the children indicate they are hungry, we provide a rolling kai to fit in with their routines from home. We assist the children with hand washing promoting independence. The teachers prepare the food for the children out of their lunch boxes. We use crockery and glasses and sing our karakia/grace.

  • SELF DIRECTED PLAY

    We offer free play and also provide activities that support children's learning and development within the curriculum areas. We have huristic play, natural resources and developmentally appropriate equipment for our infants and toddlers. Our room offers freedom of movement for children to grow and develop at their own pace naturally without being restricted.
